Riverview Guesthouse is situated in the main street of Bangalow - a heritage village in the heart of the Byron hinterland. A 10 minute drive will transport you to spectacular headlands and magnificent beaches of Byron Bay - the most easterly point in Australia. Byron Bay is located in northern New South Wales, approximately 9 hours drive north of Sydney, and 2 hours drive south of Brisbane.

Airlines fly daily into Ballina Airport (20 minutes south of Bangalow) and daily into Coolangatta Airport (45 minutes north of Bangalow). A shuttle bus service connects with all flights with prior notice.

Bangalow and surrounds

The heritage village of Bangalow is not only reputed for its fine array of restaurants, homeware shops and antique stores, but also for the plethora of annual events it hosts. Perhaps the most renowned of such events is the famous Bangalow markets (held on the fourth Sunday of each month) which has become renowned for its variety of local fare. Twice a year in January and April, Bangalow hosts the Starlight Festival – a celebration of mind, body and soul. For fun and entertainment, May brings us the locally famed Billy-cart Derby. Cultural events not to be missed are the BASC Film Festival in February and the much acclaimed Music Festival in August which boasts a selection of world renowned musicians. Towards the end of the year, November features the Bangalow Cup lunch and fashion parade followed by the rural Bangalow show. The grand finale of the year, however, must go to the Christmas Eve Carnival – a resplendent celebration of lights and good cheer for all of the local community to enjoy.

Surrounding Bangalow is the beautiful Northern NSW countryside bejeweled by the backdrop of Mt Chincogan and Mt Warning. From this be lead down to the rolling hills of the tropical hinterland, which in turn makes way to the majestic beaches and coastline of Byron Bay. Further north, you will find the fishing village of Brunswick Heads and to the west lies the country township of Lismore. The regional hub of Ballina is only 20 minutes away.
